Stari Bar is the coast’s great ruin: an entire fortified town of churches, hammams and aqueducts abandoned on its crag. After a guided climb through the ruins and the bazaar street below, drive into the groves for a tasting at the House of Olives — Bar’s olive trail includes trees over two millennia old. The ruin climb involves uneven cobbles and some sun — wear real shoes and a hat — but the pace is gentle and the tasting is a sit-down reward. Four hours with the entrance, transfers between stops and the olive-oil session included; history and lunch rolled into one.
