Viewpoint & coffee
The horseshoe-bend panorama, then coffee by the water.
Above the famous horseshoe bend of Rijeka Crnojevića rises Obod, where Đurađ Crnojević’s press printed the Oktoih in 1494 — the first printed book of the South Slavs, barely forty years after Gutenberg. This gentle guided walk pairs the ruin and its history with the riverside village, its old bridge and a lakeside coffee. Three easy hours: a gentle walk up to the ruin, the story of the press, then the riverside village with its old bridge and a coffee stop — and a facsimile Oktoih page to take home. A quiet, bookish counterpoint to the lake’s busy boat-day crowds.

Absolutely loved it
Seeing the first printing press up close was worth the trip alone. Our guide's knowledge of Njegoš and Montenegro's literary history felt like a private lecture.

Good but not great
Interesting stop, though it's clearly a niche interest for our group.
