Ice formations that survive all summer

Wild karst scenery at 2,100 m

Licensed mountain guide

Quieter trail than the Bobotov Kuk crowds

Itinerary

  1. 1

    Trailhead start

Transfer to the trailhead and a steady climb through pine and karst.

  2. 2

    Into the Ice Cave

Descend into the frozen chamber among the stalagmites — headlamps on.

  3. 3

    Panorama loop back

Return via viewpoints over the massif and Black Lake basin.

High under Obla Glava at around 2,100 m hides Ledena Pećina, the Ice Cave — a chamber of ice stalagmites and columns that never melt, even in August. This guided full-day hike climbs from the Sedlo road through karst terrain to the cave mouth, descends into the frozen chamber, and loops back with massif views all day.

Great experience

The canyon views from the ridge were unreal — worth every uphill step. Good safety gear and a guide who clearly loves these mountains. Our guide knew every trail and kept the pace right for the whole group.

Good day out

Good safety gear and a guide who clearly loves these mountains. Good scenery, though the group was bigger than expected and it felt crowded. The canyon views from the ridge were unreal — worth every uphill step.
